Karen85 16 Posted March 16, 2013 Hi everyone. I just got rebanded march 1st. I didn't get my 1st fill yet. But i am really curious. Does everyone really get full by just one cup of food? I don't have nothing in my band yet and I am still on mushy food but 1cup is just so little! I eat a regular portion size and if i feel hungry i wait till my next meal. CHEZNOEL 4,061 Posted March 16, 2013 When your band has proper restriction yes, one cup of food is enough to fill me up. 2 ☠carolinagirl☠ and DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! reacted to this
DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted March 16, 2013 Yes, in fact I follow the one cup rule religiously. I never, ever eat more than a cup of food per meal. ...and a lot of times I can't even finish that much.
dani_nyc 224 Posted March 16, 2013 The cup of food is much easier to stick to when your back on solids.. I could have eaten out the house on mushies! I was soo hungry.. 1 Karen85 reacted to this
sarawray 44 Posted March 16, 2013 Yep I can vouch for that. One cup will do the trick. Now keep in mind that most of that cup needs to be Protein.
2012 359 Posted March 16, 2013 Same here, 1 cup fills me up, just had dinner of fish and veggies, equivalent to about a cup and I'm good
FLORIDAYS 3,040 Posted March 17, 2013 If you want to lose weight before you have restriction you need to watch your portions and calories. Once you have restriction a cup of food should fill you up. But for each meal three times per day I used the following formula every day for 22 months and lost all my weight....3 oz protien, 1/2 c veggies, 1/4 c starch 4 cullychick, DELETE THIS ACCOUNT!, Karen85 and 1 other reacted to this

blondegal_ 1,028 Posted March 17, 2013 1 cup and count all my calories. Only been banded about 3 months but as I read & read on this board this seemed to be the method of the successful people so I'm trying to following in their shoes. 1 Karen85 reacted to this
Frederic 500 Posted March 17, 2013 I was skeptical too but a little over 2 weeks post op and if I eat when I first realize I'm hungry I can't even finish 1/3rd of a cup before I start to feel full as long as I'm eating slowly. 1 Terry Poperszky reacted to this
cksweetpea 26 Posted March 17, 2013 Just a question, how soon after surgery did you move from 1/2 cup up to 1 cup?
hely88 883 Posted March 17, 2013 I never eat more then a half cup at meals. When I see a cup of food it looks huge!!! Also you should be satisfied not full. It takes a while to learn what satisfied feels like so it is very important to measure your food to know when to stop. 3 zinhaa, aeromech and Karen85 reacted to this
madmanmike 33 Posted March 17, 2013 My doctor wasn't sure what I was talking about when i asked about the one cup limit. He was more concerned with getting maximum Protein and keep my carbs and sugars low. I have been very fortunate where I have not been stuck or any side effects. I am at 3.8 of a 15 band. 2 elcee and Karen85 reacted to this
Cazzy 725 Posted March 17, 2013 We dont use cups in the UK to measure our food, it was more sticking to calories (1000 to 1200 daily) and just 'small meals' but if i was to measure in cups i would eat maybe 3 oz protien plus a cup of green veg, and that is always after a tin of WW tomatoe Soup to help fill me up first, works a treat and continues to work for me, i dont eat root veg much at all so the green veg is a filler with very little calories but plenty of nutrients. 1 elcee reacted to this
