Don't drink, and don't eat anything else for now. If I tried to drink on top of being stuck, it'd be back up in a heartbeat. Hopefully, you can try walking around for a few minutes and it may pass. Maybe others have a good home remedy, but for me, time's about the only thing. I know you're not enjoying it, but it will most likely pass soon.

Time will be your friend or enemy? Takes me about 45 minutes to pass food when I take too big of a bite, don't chew properly, eat too fast.

I had a really bad episode one night with a ribeye, I tried everything and it lasted forever. When I got home, I drank some pineapple juice, not alot of it, just about a 1/4 cup or so and it finally passed through. Not saying this will work and like someone said above, sometimes this can backfire on you and you end up heaving it all up, but I didn't try to drink until probably about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes after no movement.

The first and only time so far, was lots of time and walking helped. Do not drink think you'll force it down quicker. You will hurt more. Ane the veggies have to be cooked or like you stated, chew and chew and chew before swallowing. I let some time past on my first occurance and it seemed forever before I started feeling okay. Cutting the veggies into slivers is really helpful if you must eat them.

Best wishes

I have great luck with chewing papaya enzymes when I get stuck. You can get them at GNC or other Vitamin store. Some people have reported finding them at Walmart or Walgreens too. Papaya is a natural meat tenderizer and helps to break down whatever is stuck so it can pass through the band.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
