What have you done? Do you count calories? Do you get the proper amount of protien? Do you drink enough Water? Do you visit your surgeon for fills when needed? Do you exercise? Okay, I will wait to finish the rest of my 20 questions! LOL

Go back to where you started and follow the food progression your practice gave you. If you don't have it or can't find it call and ask for a new copy. It would probably be a good idea to check in with them anyways.

Have you started getting fills again? Without the proper restriction I can see why you could get frustrated!

Losing weight boils down to simple math: If you burn more calories than you consume, you lose. If you want to get back on track and losing, start tracking your calories so you can be sure you're not overeating. Also start measuring your portions.

Get back into both your surgeon and nutritionist so you can get back track.

Best wishes.

The band is useless without getting the proper restriction from fills! I think you need to do what I did to restart....visit your surgeon!

This is why you need to see your nutritionist, too. People's calories ranges go anywhere from 800-1600 calories a day depending on their own nutritional needs. You need to go see your nutritionist so they can help you set up food guidelines specific to your needs and lifestyle.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
