I love swordfish and decided to have it tonight for the first time since the band. I got banded July 30th. The fish was wonderful and agreed with me but as I took my time eating and the fish cooled down it got harder to chew. Has this happened to anyone else with swordfish? I usually eat salmon, shrimp and lump crab meat for fish. I am not the best fish eater.

Sorry, not a big swordfish eater, but what kind of lump crab meat do you eat? I tried some and it was full of shells and horrible.

As the fish cools, the juices flow out and it gets denser and dryer. Try to zap it the microwave a few seconds to see if that helps.

I buy jumbo lump crab at BJ's Wholesale. I think it is Bumble Bee or Star Kist. It comes in one pound containers. I love it and eat it for my go to Protein.

Well I have always thought it sucks that my food gets cold before I finish but that is what happens when you eat correctly. When I put fish in microwave to reheat I usually sprinkle a little bit of Water on it first.

I find with me the key to eating anything lies in how it is cooked. If there is sauce etc. I have tons of recipes on Facebook recipe group. Included But not limited to seafood, chicken crockpot, skillet meals etc. if you are looking for something I don't have I am happy to find it for you. It is not a support group and I do it because I learn from looking at recipes and different links . I really enjoy it. If anyone wants to join just friend me at Hely lb. Also here is one way I cook either tilapia or chicken. I sautée frozen mixed peppers, frozen chopped onions and garlic then add 1 chicken breast or 1 tilapia filet. I chop the tilapia up as I cook it. I then add 1 or 2 tbls lachoy sesame ginger sauce or teriyaki sauce. It is important to measure because of the sodium content. This makes me two half cup servings .

Just came form BJ's and bought the jumbo lump crab. It is chicken of The Seas. They even had a coupon at the front of the store for it.

I'll look for it, hopefully Kroger has it, we don't have BJ's around here :), but thanks for the info! I saw this recipe on that Diners food Network show with a crab meat canoli and I wanted to make it, but needed lump crab meat, it looks so good.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
