Hudgie 10 Posted March 16, 2013 I am 4 days out. Wife and I took kids to the park. Still sore around the port and diaphragm area...normal?
CHANged 5 Posted March 16, 2013 Very normal, your body is gonna be sore for about a week, but not as bad as day 1& 2. If you are 4 days out by day 6 you should be noticeably less sore. Walking helps a lot with the soreness 2 zinhaa and hely88 reacted to this
Hudgie 10 Posted March 16, 2013 How do I be a good dad and husband, being limited in my abilities? Feel so worthless. I truly don't know if she understands my limitations. Trying to be superman, and it ain't working!
CHEZNOEL 4,061 Posted March 16, 2013 No Superman acts needed. Just telll them you love them and you are doing this journey so you can spend more and more time with them. Today is transitory. They will remember the end results!

schaunabimler 8 Posted March 16, 2013 Stomach is gurgling! I just wonder if all the pain is from gas! I wish I knew. My stomach gurgled so much the first week....and sooooo much gas. Monday will be two weeks for me...it does go away for the most part!
MCE 31 Posted March 16, 2013 90% sure it's gas. Gas X is your friend. Other than that, just keep moving, but take it easy!!!
hely88 883 Posted March 16, 2013 I am 4 years out and my stomach still gurgles. Also have some patience and let your body heal. Your family loves you and hopefully they will support you. The m ore you move (walk) the better you will be. Stay strong!
Lose100 178 Posted March 16, 2013 How do I be a good dad and husband' date=' being limited in my abilities? Feel so worthless. I truly don't know if she understands my limitations. Trying to be superman, and it ain't working![/quote']Dear Hudgie, don't try to be superman. You are A GREAT MAN!!!! You had this procedure to lose weight and get healthy. You are NOT worthless. You are giving a wonderful gift to your family. Just focus on your healing. I wish you much success on your journey.
Summerrain 520 Posted March 16, 2013 You're still healing, you are going to be sore a bit longer, keep active as you're doing and walking that helps so much with recovery. Why don't you and your wife sit down and have a heart to heart tell her how you feel, you've made a huge step being banded and now it's just going to take time to work it, it's not going to happen overnight. If you have little kids be careful lifting then at this stage. The soreness, gurgling, emotional up and downs are all normal at this stage, as each day goes by things will get better and easier and before you know it six months has gone by and you're well on your way to becoming the superman. Just hang in there and communicate with your spouse, that's what couples do.

Lady VS 1,147 Posted March 16, 2013 Another suggestion if this hasn't happened already, why don't you have your wife go with you to your post op appointment. That way she will be totally in the loop about what you are going through and what you are and will be feeling for months to come. As everyone else has said, take it is, you're not superman although no one is, walk a lot and take the Gas X strips. Congratulations on the new you.
