Recommended Posts

Hello all, I'm 13 months post op and my last adjustment was in December. I've had a really hard time eating and drinking since Monday. I feel fine but everytime I drink it goes down slow and a lot of gurgling. I haven't been able to eat much at all without discomfort and again the gurgling. I have been "stuck" before and it doesn't feel like that. I've tried pineapple juice and Hot Drinks. Nothing is helping!! I called the nurse and no help at all. Any suggestions PLEASE???

Thanks for responding. I did call the nurse yesterday and she just said if it gets worse or I'm in a lot pain to go to the ER, which happens to be 2 hours away. She did make an appointment for me but not for 3 weeks. I don't understand. Someone suggested pineapple juice so I'm trying that now. If it's not better by Monday I guess I will have to call them back.

If you have some inflammation from a stuck episode, heat will only make it worse. Sip on ice Water or even chew on some ice. But I would go back to liquids and Soups over the weekend till you can go to the doctor. Avoid solids like chicken or beef. chicken noodle Soup, Tomato Soup, Protein shakes till you can see your doctor.

I'm no health professional but this is what I would do in your situation.

Thanks I have gave up on hot drinks and only drinking cold Water. I'm still having a hard time drinking and I can't eat anything. I made a smoothie for Breakfast with ff yogurt and pureed fruit and ice to make it really thin and having a hard time drinking this too. I will be contacting my surgeons office again tomorrow.
