You're only eating twice a day? That could be it. For 4 weeks after surgery, my dr told me to drink 1 oz Protein shake every waking hour (sometimes I actually forgot) + my Soup 4x a day. Mentally I was starving, unlike you!

I say drink more Protein shakes and more soup. Get that growling tummy under control!

Wow! I'm mentally starving but feel no real hunger pangs. I'm one week post op and force down 2 x Protein Shakes, 1 small bowl of Tomato Soup and Water, juice, hot teas. Wish I could crunch on something!

I just had my surgery on Wednesday. I'm doing a lot better today. Haven't eaten much and already lost 7 pounds. I have had sugar free pudding, light Greek yogurt, Soups, Protein Shakes, juices. I'm never hungry but I know I have to have something multiple times a day so I'm not starving myself. Pain is much better, yesterday I did vomit which I am worried about... Has anyone vomited?

No vomiting or nausea, thank goodness! I'm not allowed to eat real foods until day 10 post op, tomorrow is the day I get to have real food, I'm excited to have real food tastes but I'm worried because I'm not hungry....

I was banded on Wednesday. All I've been having is Water, and chicken broth. The paperwork I was sent home with said the only kind of "food" I can have is SF Jello. I feel like I should try to eat some yogurt or something because I know my body needs something. I have Protein Drinks that I sip on, but I feel so full I feel like I'm forcing everything down.

4 days post op and was starving today. Ate the broth from 1/2 cup of chicken noodle soap and 10 ounces of milk. Felt stuffed for hours.

Over did it and not safe, but was nice to know that so little food could fill me up.

I am mentally hungry, I want so many different foods &tastes but I cannot even eat a tsp more. I'm drinking lots of Water though. How are you all dealing with the mental hunger? Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
