Made in the crock pot: lentil Soup, split pea soup, various vegetable Soups blended.

Hummus

tuna salad

Egg salad

Scrambled eggs

Baked potato

Cottage cheese

Grits

Runny oatmeal

Grits

Various pureed fruits & vegetables, spinach, carrot, Apple, berries etc...

Yogurt

pudding

Anything else ?

Really, anything that's baby food consistency or you can put through a blender to make it that consistency will work on the mushy stage. Mushy/puree food should have no chunks whatsoever.

Scrambled eggs wouldn't be a mushy food, though. It would be on the soft food stage. Baked potatoes wouldn't be a mushy food either.

The tuna and egg salad work if you put them through the blender first.

Cottage cheese is great to blend into cream Soups. Extra Protein and flavor.

Best wishes!

Are grits ok?

I guess oatmeal, my favorite is out then :(

Any more suggestions? I'm missing cooking so much this week and want to start cooking &preparing, freezing portions.

I LOVE to take an avacado and mix it with a 90 cal pac of tuna and natures seasons. Its fast and easy. The avacado takes the place of the mayo and is way better for you.

I started soft foods last night with some twice baked mashed potatoes. It was good. I was pleasantly surprised how full I felt after taking 20 minutes to eat a half cup.

Today I brought 3.5 oz of egg salad to work which I'll have if I get hungry.

The biggest problem I'm having is now that so many more options are available I find myself wanting to try everything to see how my stomach responds. I'm not even hungry just curious.

Luckily I gained a lb this morning (I'm sure it's from digesting the food differently) but it was enough of a solid reminder that I need to adjust to the changes slowly. More specifically can eat still doesn't mean should eat.

Actually, watered down grits and oatmeal are both ok! Use milk to thin them so they have more Protein and flavor :)

Sounds good, but I was told that pea Soup is not a good choice because peas are starch.

There are many foods that are considered okay during certain stages of post op that are considered bad choices after recovery.

I went in for my post op check up, I have a list of mushies that I can have, includes flaky fish-tilapia & flounder, tofu, refried Beans, ricotta cheese, farina cream of wheat plus everything on my original list. I'm going to use a lot of spices hot sauce, garlic etc to get a lot of taste in! I can't wait until Monday!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
