Hi, I live in west Phoenix. I was banded in Mexico - Dr. Corvala. Wendy Hall also does my fills. Everything has been good so far!

Hi Christal!

It looks like you're making great progress! Congrats!

I live in the east valley, but I know there are several on this site from the west valley, too. I'm sure we'll chat again! :wink2:

Can anyone tell me more about Wendy Hall? What does she charge? Where do you meet her for fills? Ect.

Thanks

She is great! She does mine at a Chiropractors office in Mesa. She goes all over the state. It is $155 a fill I think.

Are you not happy with Dr. Nirmul doing your fills? I thought all fills were included in the package of surgery..just curious why you are looking for fills elsewhere, I have my consult w/ him on the 13th..should I reconsider?

Thank you for the number!

I am happy with Dr Nirmul, he is very conservative with the fills though. I have two fills total of 2.5cc in a 14cc band. I feel very little constriction at this time. I am just inpatient a little! I also wanted to set up fills once the year is up. He is a great MD and wants his patients to be safe. I on the other hand am an impatient Nurse.

Bethy, that is very conservative for a larger band. My husband has a 10 cc band and has had three fills since his surgery 10/10/07 for a total of 7 cc, and he is close to his "sweet spot" with that, but none too tight. Conservative is good when dealing with your health, but there is a point where it gets discouraging to not lose weight.

Some of Dr Aceves' patients in Mexicali drive down occasionally for fills. He is very highly recommended by his patients (I am not one of them, so I don't have any interest in pushing his services for any reason). PM WasaBubbleButt (she's a nurse too) if you are interested.

I was banded by Dr. Aceves in April 2007 and so far I've lost 55 pounds. I started having problems about 3 weeks ago and I'm beginning to get scared. I'm having terrible heartburn and acid reflux. I've haven't had it since the surgery until now. Has anyone else experienced this and if so, how long did it last before it went away. It's been three weeks and I know it's not just the "stomach virus" I first thought it was. Starting to worry....

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
