dani_nyc 224 Posted March 12, 2013 I think Im getting To hard on myself... I do NOT cheat on my diet.. I don't snack.. If I eat something I make sure it's always calculated on my allowed calories... I always take a minute between bites.. I always wait 20 minutes for a drink.. But tonight I get really down and hard on myself because I had a 1/2 of a teaspoon of mashed potatoes.. I shouldn't feel like this cause I'm not on a super strict diet yet.. I'm just watching my intake ie. calories and portions.. Anyone hard on themselves like this? Is it normal? FLORIDAYS 3,040 Posted March 12, 2013 I ate 1/4 c of startch at every meal during my losing stage so there was nothing to get down on myself about. That. Combiined with 3 oz of protien and 1/2 veggies was a satisfying meal for 22 months. And now maintaining I have the same basic portions which include a starch. It's a healthy balanced meal and nothing you should feel guilty about. 2 Spaness2012 and ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
Draven 188 Posted March 12, 2013 Hi dani. Ny here too. Well, I assume nyc means that. However last night I assumed PB meant Peanut Butter and was wayyyyy off base. Lol. Don't be hard on yourself. The way I look at it, we aren't even on diets. We are on a complete life style change. And that includes having little treats every now and then. I get down on myself too. It happens. But that's what we are here for. To pick each other up. 6 ☠carolinagirl☠, ItsANewDay, kazjim98 and 3 others reacted to this

dani_nyc 224 Posted March 13, 2013 Hahaha yes I'm from NYC.. And Carolinagirl u are toooo funny... I meant diet very loosely... I eat everything I ate before just the proper portions. Because i never was a "junk" food eater just an Excessive eater..But I felt so guilty taking that extra spoonful of mashed potatoes... I have bad OCD and I have to stop before I drive myself nuts. 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this

ItsANewDay 119 Posted March 13, 2013 Please don't be hard on yourself, you are doing fantastic. I do understand as we lose weight, some of us develop a new identity from being in control of what we eat, it becomes part of who we are now. It can be very taxing when we lose control, whether that be an entire pizza or .5 teaspoon of mashed potatoes. The guilt and disappointment can be overwhelming (scary too). I'm a proud of you and your post. You start out with your accomplishments. Just keep that up! You're going to be a Rock Star!
