I need a refill but is something wrong with my band?

Recommended Posts

I should have gone in january again for my filling but didnt so it kind of stopped working and last couple of weeks maybe I have been so hungry. Like alot worse than before the surgery. Now im constantly hungry day in and day out. My stomach is constantly growling kind of painfully and im painfully hungry even if i take a large eating session from hunger. Like normally before the surgery I had two sandwiches maybe and that lasted me quite some time but now two sandwiches are not enough. Not even little bit. Im still really hungry and constant stomach growling. Is this normal??

I have my second filling tomorrow morning and im so worried that something is wrong. I probably wont be able to sleep from worries. Can someone please help me.

Has anyone had this after not going right away for a filling?

And i dont know how much i should get. I think 2 ml is too little since its so long since i had this?

It's usually not up to you to decide how big your fill is? The doc makes that decision.

It can take upt to 6 fills before the band works it's magic.

And you really should not be eating 2 sandwiches. Spend some time with your nutritionist.

I did not think we were supposed to eat bread? 2 sandwiches is a lot of bread...not sure since I have only had 1 fill but I know even before I had my fill I could not have been able to eat 1 sandwich much less 2.. I agree that you need to tell your Dr. to make sure nothing is wrong.

I can have bread and I eat thin Bagels with no distress. Two sandwiches is a bit at one setting. I have 7.1 cc and I stay below 1 cup each setting. Always log everything you eat and measure. Good luck

If you need a fill, it might be normal to be so hungry between meals. But, there is "headhunger"! My surgeon is really a big believer in that, too! Try to stick to your 4 oz of Protein and 1/2 cup of veggies. Best wishes, hopefully your surgeon can help you tomorrow!

are you eating because you are truly hungry or because you think you are? there is a difference as kll described.

if you are really hungry, by all means eat...but eat filling protein/veggies..eating 2 sandwiches is what ole gal here was eating as i was making my way over 300 not that long ago....better food choices will help......as will drinking alot...(if anyone eats more cals than we burn off, you will gain....fill or no fill)

Just keep in mind also that stomach growling is not always a hunger signal.

See your fill person and discuss with them what's going on, sounds like you need a fill.

I can still eat bread but there is no way I can eat more than half a sandwich being in greenzone.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
