SaraJ 6 Posted March 12, 2013 Hi everyone, I was banded on Feb 26th. I started soft foods yesterday. Vegetables never tasted so good! Anyway, I don't feel full, I don't have a problem with drinking too fast and I'm wondering why? I've also only lost 10 pounds. I haven't seen my doc for my follow up yet, but is it too soon for a fill?
hely88 883 Posted March 12, 2013 Really it is totally up to your doctor. Everyone is different. Good Luck. 2 2muchfun and ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this

You will not feel full(and that's not the goal, satiety is the goal) until you get enough fills to give you adequate restriction. And you may always be able to guzzle Water. "Until there's restriction it's just another diet"....B-52 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
Spaness2012 609 Posted March 12, 2013 My doc waits 6 weeks. Honestly, this is a time for healing not really weight loss. Keep reading....the veterans have great advice about this and PATIENCE has alot to do with it. This was hard for me to resign to...but I'm glad I did because it just helps me focus on what I need to be doing....which is ....eating slowly, taking small bites, choosing better foods, etc. Have a great day! 2 ☠carolinagirl☠ and 2muchfun reacted to this

DONYEIL 9 Posted March 12, 2013 Your doing fine! It take time but with every pound I lose I still wonder is it enough being banded in January myself I still have questions and wonders but I guess its normal my doctor waited four weeks before my first fill, and I cannot wait to get another on April 1 I feel like i am waiting on a xmas gift lol 2 2muchfun and ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
CHEZNOEL 4,061 Posted March 12, 2013 Talk it over with the doctor. You seem to be doing well. Losing weight is a journey not a race, and it sounds like you are doing well. I waited for 6 weeks for a fill, and even that did not make me feel overly restricted. Eat the right foods in the right amounts and you will lose, fill or no fill! 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this

It's just a little disappointing to me considering I am not eating solid food, that's all. I'll get over it.

I'll get over it. Weight lost the first 6 weeks is mostly Water loss. But all the drugs and fluids they pump into you during surgery can increase your weight. Also, liquids can contain calories, sodium, carbohydrates that make you retain fluids. 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
