Improving Shape/ Reducing Waste Line?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I was wondering if anybody here has used some type of body shaper or girdle that helped with body shaping and reducing waste line in the long run? I've never been happy with my waste. It has always been wider than my hips and legs area. So when I buy jeans, they are tighter on the waste than on my legs and butt. But now that I am very overweight, it is very noticable, well at least to me. What I want to know is, are there any girdles in particular that any of you have used for the same purpose? Did they help you shrink your waste line in the long run? Which one did you use? I would ultimately like to get a body shaper for this purpose and that I can use it for every day wear as well as occasional work out.

All related feedback is appreciated. Thank you Everyone!

Unfortunately, no body shaper or girdle is going to reduce your waist line. The only way you're going to do that is via diet and exercise.

Now, for a temporary illusion of a smaller waist under clothes, Spanx has a lot of different shapers to choose from in various degrees of control.

I used a girdle through most of my last weightloss attempt before lapband.. The only thing it did help me with was building my ab muscles.. Because it gave me to extra support between workouts

I agree... I know of no garment that will permanently change your waistline. Spanx, and their sister products Assets are very good for support though.

I dont know of any body shaper that will permenantly change your shape. After you get to a normal weight you may look into cosmetic surgery but I am betting you find your shape to be just fine.

I thought I would always have a butt..fat or thin...... But after losing 224 lbs it is flatter than I could have imagined.

Just be patient and speak to a trainer about how to lose belly fat which may speed things along.

Good luck

The only thing I could think of is using corests...but this does not make the weight disappear . It just shift it so it wiil either go up or down your body...but it can be very uncomfortable and can be dangerous. This why people constantly has smelling salt.. People kept fainting IMO not worth it

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
