I don't know what happened, I was banded approx a year ago, had about two fills and lost close to 70 pds and was so happy. To be honest it wasn't really hard to lose! About 6 months ago i got a fill (about 2ml) that i completely regret because i was so tight that I gained about 30 pounds back. I recently got 1 ml taken out and did liquids only for about 4 days. When I started eating solids again i felt a little restriction but after about 10 mins it passed and I was hungry again.

I have been excercising and watching what I eat, but its just not coming off as easliy as it did before and wanteed to get everyones advice before I schedule another appointment possibly for a .5ml fill (does that amount even make a difference?).

I am just embarresed because when I lost all that weight I told my family about the lapband and now that i gained some back i feel silly and like I've failed. and dont know how to get back to that place where i lost all that weight! i'm desperate and confused, anyone have any advice or gone through something similar?

Hi WeaponX

It's hard to give specific advice without details. Like what do you eat, how many calories perhaps etc so we can help make suggestions.

Also, when you had your 2cc fill, did you have it all taken out? if not, how did you gain 30 lbs? liquid calories?

One of the keys to the band is to find green, and yes 0.5 cc can make a band too loose or too tight especially when you get closer to max fills.

I agree... it is hard to imagine gaining unless you were eating a lot of the wrong foods. Go back the basics... pretend you are newly banded and progress slowly through the stages again. Be honest with your self about calorie intake and portion sizes. It is easy to let these creep up on you. Best wishes, and do what you know you need to do to get healthy. What other people think is none of your concern! Want it and do it!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
