I've been going to Wall stadium since the 60's...my friends father owned a modified....I'm into dirt racks now....New Egypt...every Saturday...

I went to New Egypt around 3 years ago when Wall suddenly shut down mid summer. I wanted to like New Egypt but the amount of cautions drove me crazy.

Peanut Butter is my go to for Breakfast on celery.

I went no bread for the first six months and my nut kept yelling at me. Just make it good bread. I eat whole grain bread every other day now, just a alf slice!

Stopped soda and all carbination prior to surgery. Now I can't stand the taste!

I pretty much eat whatever I want now just a tiny portion! My nut always says enjoy what you eat.

It is what you make it. I still love to eat, I just eat tons less.

Yep, Dr. Kipnis and Debra Blair. Both are great.

I also want to say the staff at JSMC was fantastic. I usually complain about everything but it was really a smooth operation in everyway.

This is too funny! Pete & Eldas is one of my favorites. Surf Taco too.

I was banded at 7:30am this morning at Jersey Shore Medical Center. The surgery was WAY easier than I thought! Almost no pain from the wound. No shoulder pain at all. I was home by 2pm.

Now, I must admit I am scared shitless. My wife and I USED to eat out almost every night but the last few weeks of this liquid pre-op hell has put a screeching halt to that. Feel sorry for my poor wife.

I have no idea how I am going to do this. 30 years of bad habits will be hard to break. Nothing better than a Taylor Ham and scrambled egg sandwich for Breakfast. Or maybe a Bagel Masters bagel. And then it is just downhill from there. Oh did I mention 2 or 3 big gulp diet cokes every day?

I have been lurking here for a few months for encouragement and glad I went thru with it. But I am afraid my past will be hard to break.

Everyone is listing their do's and don'ts....My Dr. never told me NOT to eat or drink anything in particular....

What did happen is that there was a learning phase for me....within the first 6 months or so that corresponded with my adjustment period (fills) as I moved closer and closer to the Green Zone...I discovered for myself what foods I needed to avoid. AND I learned the hard way...school of hard knocks...

When I would tell my Dr. I was having problems with a certain food, like red meat, he would nod and simply tell me that is not uncommon....in other words he let me discover

it all on my own...I quess he knows that everyone is different.....

One day we were talking about a Yankee game I went to, and I casually told him I did not eat a thing all day, but I did have at least 3 beers.....he asked me a few questions, then said he did not condone it but he could see I understood what I was doing and if I was going to drink a beer here or there, keep following the steps I was taking...he also asked me not to share this with his other patients when I speak at the support groups....

So yes....I do have a LONG list of foods I no longer eat...but it was only because I do better without them.....I will also say that during that "Learning Phase", I sometimes got stuck 2-3 times a day because I am a slow learner and hard headed.....

but I can say now that I have changed my ways to suit the band, and I have not gotten stuck in over a year now....

and I mean band friendly foods, NOT foods by calorie content...that's different....that's important for dieting...I mean foods that I can tolerate with the band yet remain in the green Zone without any problems or complaints....

Also, it is interesting that the foods I avoid, that are not cooperative with my band, are not that good for me in the first place...

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
