Reaching Your Goal

Recommended Posts

Have any of you December 2010 banders met your goal yet? I am almost there. I'm so excited. I was almost there about a year ago and had a problem with my band. They took the saline out and I have been struggling to lose every since. I am finally back to the weight I was 8 months ago. I have a 10 cc band and I am at 7.2 ccs. The restriction is great. I sure hope nothing goes wrong again.

Good morning!

I was banded December 2010 and I'm 15lbs away from my goal! I could have been there by now, but I've been slacking on the exercise!!

I'm still loving my band and my new body!

Good luck to you!

I was banded in dec. 2010. I'm still a LONG way off. I had some dial action so they removed a lot of my Fluid a month ago and put me on phentermine. I need some encouragement. I lost 90 LBS and gained 40 when they removed my saline. Do y'all still vomit? Are y'all in your green zone? I just started hardcore workouts.

No, I do not vomit. I actually reached my goal and I have now gained 18 pounds back. I was really small and my family and friends could hardly recognize me. LOL I guess I was just too skinny for them. :D I'm back at 150 pounds which was my original goal weight. I'm six years out and still get adjusted from time to time. I'm down to 6.5 ccs in my band I think. I'm wearing a size 10 now. I'm still drinking Protein Shakes and what I eat fluctuates from day to day. Some days I can eat all day and other days, I barely eat. As long as I'm still healthy is all that matters. Be blessed all.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
