I think that it would be cool to keep a thread going of band-friendly restaurants. Places that have delicious and healthy foods or that allow adult customers to order off of the kids menu.

I can kick it off..

Cheddars- they're cool about letting me order from the kids menu

Pita pit- DELICIOUS and nutritious with lots of options.

I order from the children's menu a lot without any problems. I live in the Boston area. One of my favorites is Not Your Average Joe's. They have a wonderful salmon with green Beans and mashed potatoes. I couldn't finish the kid's size yesterday. Also, Smokey Bones had wonderful 1/4 chicken on the kid's. I love eating out. After 42 years of being married, time to stop cooking so much.

Pretty much any restaurant is band friendly you just have to be careful what you order and how much you eat. Kids menus or appetizers are often good ideas and I always try to make sure they have a Soup option.

It may be shocking, but Chick-A-Filet has a GREAT bandster sized healthy meal. Their kids' chicken nugget meal. It's 4 unbreaded baked chicken nuggets. You can get applesauce for a side as part of the meal, too.

When I was traveling down south last summer, this meal was my savior in a sea of horrible fast food. The chicken is seasoned and tastes really good, too.

Applebees chicken fiesta salad is a go to for me. Also their sirlion steaks are on ww calories. Theres more than enough for at least two meals and that includes the half size lunch portion of the salad. I love that salad.

Mis I have also done the chick filet kids nuggets but mine was fried. That's the only ff restaurant I've been to since banded and only done it twice. For me I try to stay away from them due to my old naughty habits. But I do enjoy going out to non ff restaurants on occasion.

chicfilet is also good for chicken tortilla soup.. it's so good and only 260 calories.. good amt of Protein also. applebees has a good selection also. I do not eat out often either but like to have options when I do. I'm getting better at making good choices ....I ate some chicken nuggets from Wendy's the other night, got caught while traveling. They weren't bad I only ate 3 of them...

The manager at Chili's told me they would do what they could for banded people. Even cut orders in half. Not that they have a lot of healthy food, but you could order and have them box your food and bring you out a fourth of it. Times are hard and they don't want to lose any customers.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
