I have lost 75 lbs. I have pics posted online of my progress. I'm proud and have found that ppl I don't even know are inspired by my weightloss. So I keep posting about my journey.

Here's the crazy part. I have a select number of "friends" who will comment on photos and text me nutritional advice. I know in my heart they are just trying to help. But HELLO?!? I LOST 75 LBS! I think I know how to lose weight. And guess what eliminating egg yolks (one recent tip given) ain't it! I just think it is rude to give advice that wasn't requested. And it is a little condescending to my work thus far.

Does this annoy anyone else? Or does it just happen to me?

No answer, just wanted to say, congrats on your weight loss, and ignore those folks who think they know better than you!

75 lbs is awesome... your answer should be "I got this"... I have lost 75 lbs and I'm good...Thanks for your concern and advice ....Keep on doing what you are doing.. I eat eggs most days for breakfast.. We have "real" eggs from the farm.. so they are really good. I have friends and family who now leave me alone. I have lost 28 lbs since I started my journey ... surgery Jan 15th..

This might make you feel better, I work with a bunch of RDs and even a bodybuilder, so you can imagine the feedback I get :). I'll listen to what they have to say, but I go by what my bloodwork and nutritionist tells me and I've been losing consistently, 87 as of today (woohoo!) and obviously I'm doing something right.

Just delete their comments. Maybe they'll get the hint.

Ha! Maybe I should Tara! I'm like I've lost this much weight without your two cents so, keep them. Plus where was all this advice when I was heavier?! Lol 2012 I always say I have a plan with my doctor and I'm good. After I gave that response someone recently told me, "well do you mind if I give you a different plan than what you're doing?" Um YES! Sharpie I LOVE EGGS! I eat them at least once a day. Thanks Kll!

Line I don't send them to anyone in particular. I have posted them on social media.

I have lost every bit of my excess weight and I ate eggs and other fatty stuff. I have watched my calories total for the day but I did follow surgeon rule of eat Protein first. Protein includes eggs. The main protein in eggs is in the yolk. :)

First, congratulations on your weight loss!

I have a couple of people like that in my life, too. The first time they made stupid comments like that about my weight loss, I corrected them. The second time I changed my settings so now these people can no longer see posts about weight loss or my pictures.

Problem solved :)

Everyone has an opinion...but not everybody has lost 75lbs. Good for you!

I have a thin sister and sister n law that eat like truck drivers right now. I am going to venture to say that right now...I could very well be the healthier one....even fat. :)

Keep up the excellent work....I am certain you could teach all of us a thing or 2.

Every one has an opinion and I chose to take what info I find helpful and discard the rest, I do not let what others say annoy me, life is too short and if it makes them feel better to give their opinion so be it. I have learned over the past 2 years posting on social media that there are a lot of opinions out here and I have to take the positive along with those who think they are helpful. Some people just feel the need to tell others how to do things, I eat what I want, I have learned Portion Control and in my book no food is off limits in moderation. Well maybe except carbonated drinks, they do not work for me. You are doing great work congratulations. Oh and if you allow it some people on this forum will drive you to drink! lol

Many with good intentions don't realize they are stomping flat footed on those they assume they are 'helping'.

Like rain on a duck's back, all comments either way can be endured, ignored or held up for our own criticism.

There comes a point where we just don't have the time as each day is filled with Light and delving into whatever dark holes drain our energy for no good purpose.

Cheers on your journey and congratulations on your remarkable progress.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
