taking a break from LBT--pointless

Recommended Posts

Oh Crystal...

I so understand your frustration. I hung out here for a LONG time before I was able to get my band...

All those people - happy, losing weight - having minor struggles. I got to the point where I could hardly stand coming here.... it hurt too much.

So, go if you must... but remember that we are always here for you - ALWAYS - and we want to know how you are and what you and yours are doing. Please, stop by for a visit once in a while.

You will be missed.

Hugs.

Well, I can't top anything everyone else has said, so I'll just say that you are one of the reasons I come back so often - I love the way you look at things, you have a great perspective on most topics! I will miss you very much, so I truly hope you just take a short break! Being thin is the goal for everyone of us on this board, but being AWESOME is way more important - and you, my dear, have definitely achieved that!!!!

Love You!

Thank you so much. You are all such kind and caring people. I am crying as I sit here reading your thoughs of care and understanding.

I just started a thread that updates my last two weeks. Maybe I should have called it "it was the best of times, it was the worst of times" but that's already been done...

VQ...There really isnt anything left to say that hasnt been said. If you are feeling stressed and overwhelmed with everything...take a break from everything. Regroup and refocus, it might be just what you need.

Please make sure you dont go for too long though, there are so many of us from everywhere...oceans away that really appreciate your advice and thoughts.

Big Hugs

Thank you all so much.

I didn't mean to imply that LBT was pointless, just that any attempt to lose weight or thoughts of losing weight were pointless.

I'm still gaining weight, 10 pounds in the last week. Which of course, means that I need to be doing a lot of testing for the cushings, trying to catch the tumor on a high.

I know that being home with my family has been such a good thing for me. I had been away from my husband and son for far, far too long.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
