Recommended Posts

I have! I lost over 100 pounds and gained back 40. Now I have recently lost 16, hopefully I'm back on track!

When is the last time you had a fill? I got off track when I started missing appointments because of family tragedies! I made an appointment in March to see if I can get a little more help from my band!

I didn't gain weight until after my band started to leak. So my weight remained stable for 3 years. I gained with the leak only because I suddenly couldn't feel my band anymore and started to enjoy that feeling a little too much.

I'm now trying to lose the excess weight while waiting for a full band replacement. I have to admit, one thing I am thankful for is that the band did help me break my addiction to a lot of foods that would likely have had me balloon in a short period of time had I still craved them - things like junk food, soda and chips. So while the band is currently not working, it's taught me about discipline and good food, and that's better than the way I was before. More importantly, it has shown me that I can control my weight if I set my mind to it.

Sweetie, try to relax . If you look at any weight loss surgery, you will see you can gain weight back with any of them. My sister had gastric bypass, lost a lot of weight, didn't fix her head and gained almost all of it back.

It's all about changing your habits. Not using food to medicate yourself. Following your Drs plan. No matter which surgery you choose, its going to take work.

Good luck

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
