Leener,

I'm sorry that you are going through all of this. I know it's easy to jump to the worst conclusions, but do your best not to do that. Hope for the best, and don't think about the worst, okay? Please keep us updated, you'll be in my thoughts as well! *hugs*

Leener.. first of all *big hugs*

Now, you need to remember that positive thinking, while not a magical cure for anything, is a very strong force within our bodies. Negative thinking brings on a mindset of defeat before the battle even starts. It also brings on the stress, worry, and fear. Try not to embrace every fleeting fearful thought about this. Instead, try thinking logically and calmly. So many times I have seen medical professionals be wrong about "suspicious spots" and scare people half to death over nothing. Tell yourself it is nothing. This is just a precaution. The surgery will be so much easier than what you've gone through with the band, so don't let that intimidate you. You'll do just fine and you'll BE just fine. I know it. I believe it and I'm claiming it on your behalf. *more hugs*

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. I was going to talk about the spirit of fear but thought it might be better to let you go to this site and read it for yourself. I pray that it helps and I'll certainly be praying for a spirit of power, love and a sound mind for you.

Love ya Leener! *more hugs*

Leener -

Sorry to hear about this! My MIL had an abnormal reading about 2 years ago. She had a biopsy done and it was determined she had uterine cancer. She did undergo a hysterectomy and has been fine every since (no chemo needed). I hope you don't have to go through this, but know that it's good that you're getting regular check ups and hopefully if it is anything abnormal, they'll be able to hop right on it since they caught it early. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Kim

You will be in my prayers. It is easy to say "don't worry", but a much harder thing to accomplish. I had a scare with possible breast cancer a few years ago and it ended up being nothing to worry about.

Keep a positive attitude and remember that we are all here to offer support and love. God has your life already in His plans and we need to trust in His care. Everything will work out just fine.

Hey all, trying to keep positive. But woke up this morning with anxiet attack.

Doctor scheduled the D&C for June 13, 2 months to the day i had my band. What I find disconcerting is that it is so long away. I know he is busy, but if this is cancer, isn't that a long time to wait? Or maybe he is not worried about it???

IMO if it was I think you would have been in like the next day. He must not feel that it is, thus making your appt in June busy or not. If it were me I would give him a call just to talk about the results somemore and point blank ask him why he is not seeing you untill June.

{{{{HUGS}}} Sorry about the attack I have had 2 and they are awful.

I agree that a call in to the Dr. is a good idea. Find out what you can. Tell him you are afraid to wait that long and see what his response is. And you can always go for a second opinion, especially if any surgery is involved, insurances, usually don't hassle you then.

And another thing to think about as far as hearing him talk with the other Dr....maybe he was "building up his case". Making it seem like a bigger issue than it is. My friend worked for a group of ortho Dr.'s who were very competitive with their cases she said. Guess maybe it is a "Mines bigger than yours" attitude. Like saying a patient had a rather large, 10cm.X7cm. hematoma (or some such thing!) rather than saying a big ol' bruise!

Talk to your Dr. and if you can't - find a new one you can. Never forget YOU pay HIM not the other way around. He works for you! Ask anything you want and he should answer until you understand. With your familial risk, he should address your fears, and do not feel as though you are being too demanding, and whiny, this is your health and that you not be fully informed is BS!!!

I've had a couple of anxiety attacks back in my prior marriage, and they suck! Totally incapacitated me! Knowledge will make you feel stronger to face the fears that caused yours I bet...instead of sitting around worrying, sit around waiting for him to call you back....sad but true! Keep us posted!

I gave a call and am awaiting a call back. I told the office if this may be cancer, a month is too long and if he doesn't think it's cancer, I need for him to tell me that.

Thanks ladies.

Leener -

I think that sounds like a long time, too. With my MIL, they got her in almost immediately. Maybe they just don't see a need to be concerned yet! Cross fingers! Glad you called the doc! Good luck!

Still waiting for the call. Doctor is not in today, but the surgery coodinator said he usually will tell her to "get this one in this week" or even "tomorrow" if it's serious.

SO I am still waiting to hear back.

Thank you all for being here with me, through this.

Awww Leener I am so sorry for all you are going through both emotionally and physically. It just sucks bigtime. I too will keep you in my prayers and lift you up.

We are all here for you.

FYI: WINK WINK I have been known to call a doc's office up to three times in one day to get someone to return my call. I am a RN and I know how busy an office can get but I also know it takes just a minute to answer a question.

HUGS!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
