Anyone banded around 11/26/2012? I am 33 year old and my pre weight was 250 and my current weight is 236. I have 5 cc in my band and can't stop thinking I should be doing better? Any opinions welcomed.

You will not get instant results and I learned that early on. Then I realized slow is the best way because any other nurse I worked with that had gastric bypass and NOT lap band lost fast and has gained it all back. So relax and it will happen. Remind yourself of your rules...eat slower 30 min, small bites chew well...this a life change not weight loss sprint. By the way I was banded 4/2012 and as of today I have lost 51 lbs so for 4months out you are doing well. The numbers going down is always good!!

I catch myself comparing myself to others and like my surgeon said the other day when I was in for a fill, slow and steady wins the race. I'm 8 mos post op and down 57 lbs. It's coming off slow but each month I lose, that's less pressure off of knees and hip joints and heart muscle.

I was banded the 15th November started 242 now 210 and I am 30. I have 6.4 in my 10ml band but workout 5 days a week for at least 90mins I think that is helping. Until I got my fill up to 6ml I didn't even feel I had the band and that fill seemed to take two weeks to start working for me. Everyone is so different I was at 5ml in December and put on 8 pounds!!! The weight loss started kicking in in January for me but it is taking a lot of work!!!! Not easy at all :). Good luck. Are you feeling the band at all yet?

It takes time to get the right fill I am still working on it BUT it does start to kick in!!! I have really started to notice :). I was super excited when I started to get closer to the green zone. Keep positive and I agree slow and steady weight loss is optimal. Good luck x

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
