Leslie80 14 Posted February 26, 2013 Today I start my full liquid diet after doing liquids only for 7 days. My docs notes states that I could eat "sugar free" products, farina, cream of rice, ect. Does sugar free means "diet suggar" also, what kind of suggar are we allowed to consume? How can I make this farina?
DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted February 26, 2013 I'm not sure what you mean by "diet sugar"? "Diet" doesn't necessarily mean sugar free. Neither does "no sugar added". The only way you know if a product is sugar free is if it says specifically "sugar free" on the label. Otherwise, chances are it has sugar.
2muchfun 8,927 Posted February 26, 2013 Don't know what Farina is? My take is you can have equal, saccharin, stevia and most all no calories sweeteners. At this time it sounds like your doc wants you on a low carb diet and sugar is mostly carbs. Sweeteners are not. Not to say that artificial sweeteners are good for you but then neither are simple sugars. tmf
Booyah!! 19 Posted February 26, 2013 Farina is dry Cereal that needs to be cooked like grits or oatmeal. I personally like it with some cinnamon and sweetener. 2 2muchfun and Leslie80 reacted to this
Frederic 500 Posted February 26, 2013 Farina is very similar to cream of wheat or plain malt-o-meal.
