dani_nyc 224 Posted February 25, 2013 So I have come down with a wicked case of bronchitis.. I went to my regular doctor and he prescribed me liquid antibiotics (yuck) and liquid Tylenol (even more yuck) just in case of high fevers. My questions are .. Can this severe coughing cause my lap band to slip and should I call my surgeon? I'm 2 weeks 3 days post op This is probably the only thing not covered in my lap band material

SageTracey 608 Posted February 25, 2013 I have had a number of nasty chest colds since being banded, including coughing almost to the point of vomiting - no ill effect on my band. But check with your surgeon if you are concerned.

laurigee 545 Posted February 26, 2013 Even if it could slip because of coughing I don't think there is too much anyone can do besides give you a cough suppressant and cross your fingers!? Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!
