That time of the Month & Fills

Hello all,

I need some help this mornnig. Lately when getting fill I have good restriction and then prior to my monthly cycle, I get lose for about 2/3 days and then just before I tighten up really bad.

Since I hadn't had a fill in a while, I did not remember how bad it was until last night. I started retaining Water and my acid reflux went up to a level that I hadn't seen before (meaning very bad:omg: ). I coughed all night long, to the point of my chest hurting (and it could also be from the exercise with the trainer, we worked on arms, back and shoulders).

I don't want to get an unfill, I think I need to wait for a few days and just do Clear liquids to give my body time to heal. I always make sure I never get a fill around my cycle time because I usually carry around 5lbs of water weight but last night was the worst.

Any suggestions on how to handle this would be helpful. Thank you for your help!

I always get super tight around my monthly, I make sure to check the dates before I go in for a apt fill.

If I get a tight fill I cant handle anything but liquids that week..

I try not to get filled that tight because I dont like the feeling

Thanks for the reply.

It look like you've had your band for quite a while. It's always nice to see someone who has had some time with the band. It's been almost a year, and still so new to me.

I don't like the way I feel when I am supper tight either, it's like someone has there hand around my neck but not tight enough to choke me, just make me very uncomfortable.

Thanks for your reply.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
