Foods that cause problems

Recommended Posts

Never had an issue with eggs.. Just made a concoction of 3 eggs, California mix veggies, a sausage, cheese and a bit of milk. I puréed it in my magic bullet and fried it up in some olive oil with a few sprinkles of Franks Red Hot. This made 1 cup when all blended

Was a good loose consistency, moist and super tasty..

Good Protein boost for post workout and a decent brunch...

I don't have any food that gives me any problem but then again I am only 6 weeks post op. I just had my first fill yesterday and the surgeon put in 5 cc in my 10 cc band. I guess I am going to find out in a few days what I can eat and how to eat food the right way. I am kinda getting nervous about this since I don't want a stuck episode or vomiting.

When I get stuck and I take sips it hurts more and it comes back up. When I have that stuck feeling I excuse myself and go to the restroom and cough up what is stuck.

Yeah, my family says I'm being belemic, but not in a hurtful way. Having some experience with firearms through my work in the Canadian Army, when a round gets stuck in the chamber an armourer normally has to do a "hard extraction" with a hammer or other tools.. In this case its my fingers down my throat...This is the term I've started to use to macho-ify the situation....

Occasionally a hot liquid will work......

If you have to do a "Hard Extraction" often, that's a sign that you are eating to fast or taking bites that are to big or your band is to tight.

Not very often this happens.... Normally when distracted or being a Hammerhead

upon reflection of this question, I believe 1) we all go through phases, which finds unpredictable changes in those troublesome foods;

2) for my own Band it seems that various 'errors of eating' are more readily identifiable than particular foods;

3) 'too dry/too fast/too hungry/too large (gulping)/ etc.

Mostly I can eat any thing, just not 'any time'....especially if I'm not really 'hungry'.

I retain some of the old "first bite syndrome"...and if I don't heed that warning, put down my eating trowel (down from my preBand 'eating shovel') and wait a bit, there will be trouble.

It continues to amaze how easily the Old Bad Habit of Browsing and related Carb Mindlessness try to reestablish themselves.

If I really do the 'protein first' and don't engage in 'sport eating' then I have few troubles.

I agree with all the Jack has posted.

My main issue is eating too fast. Talking while eating is hard work.

White bread is a no no. Pretty much everything else is OK. Chinese food can cause accidents but rice and popcorn no problem.

I now rely like fish. It's a delight to eat

      Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

        Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

        Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
