Frederic 500 Posted March 1, 2013 What is the most you've been overweight? And how much would you want the Lap band to help you lose? The average person loses 15 pts off their pre surgery BMI if that puts you below normal they'll probably deny you.

The average person loses 15 pts off their pre surgery BMI if that puts you below normal they'll probably deny you. I been overweight since I have 18 years old (I have 38 in March 11)...Then, I gained a lot of pounds since my first pregnancy...200 pounds, after that for many years I try a lot of things to weights loss, Atkins, Gym, South Beach, differents over the counter loss weight pills, Adipex too, and with a lot of work I always be very slow to maybe down 20 pounds, and in 6 months gain 25....Yo-yo for many years, and you know what I'm very sick and TIRED of that....Now, I had a baby a two years ago (she weight 11 pounds with 6 ounces), and I try diets and nothing works for me....maybe my age, my metabolism, my diabetes>???I dont know, I just need help. vacationgirl1 6 Posted March 1, 2013 Hi I was told an a seminar Tuesday night that the surgeon uses the first weight they take when you first meet them, before the liquid diet. I think you'll be OK. Ask your surgeon/team!!

Ask your surgeon/team!! Hi ! Thanks for the info, thats calm me....what about the seminar? They weight you there? I dont think so, just curious...!
vacationgirl1 6 Posted March 1, 2013 No, they don't weigh you at the seminars. They are just for information. Have you been to one yet? The hospitals and surgeons that you decide to go with run seminars that you go to first to get educated on the Lap Band and also to decide if this hospital and the surgeons are a good fit for you. After you choose your surgeon and hospital, you set up your first appointment. I think that is when they weigh you. I am going on Monday. I hope that is when they weigh me. I am going to a hospital in Boston. I know they are going to take blood tests and do some nutrition counceling.

\Mara/ 11 Posted March 1, 2013 Fill out the paperwork ASAP and see if you can get to an earlier seminar! I did that at the Beth Israel. It moved everything up one month earlier!! They have an earlier seminar for new patients, but this specify day I cant be there!!!! grrrrr....., and I want this office, I have good references ....I wish move on earlier but I cant.... Good for you my friend! What you recommend me with my BMI, 33.7?
vacationgirl1 6 Posted March 2, 2013 I would call the office of that center in springfield and ask about your BMI. Tell them about your insurance. Ask them when exactly do they weigh you. This will give you a lot of answers. Sign up for the seminar and try try try to go if you can free up your time. It's important to get the process moving for yourself if you possibly can. If not, just call your insurance company and the doctor's office. Ask all your questions. Write them down as you think of them and work on getting your paperwork done and your insurance questions and qualifications answered. Good luck! Keep asking us for help! That's what we're here for! skikyd 165 Posted March 2, 2013 Thank you for ur support' date=' I appreciate <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />[/quote'] I would try to work out and build some muscle. Muscle, weighs more than fat . Do resistance training vs cardio. Lift weights. moderate weights. that will build muscle without exertion. You will be healthier in the long run., and add some weight. 1 \Mara/ reacted to this
