Thank you again, I know I am a 37 yr old adult throwing a tantrum. I also know I waited two years to have this surgery, and wanted the RNY, feel like I settled for the LapBand, and now terrified it will not work. And, I am out all this money!

Life is good, I have today, I can work this, and if it or I fail. Start over from there.

Otherwise, the head crazies are going to make me NUTZ (ok, MORE nutz)

*chuckles* Geeze girl, you are SO not alone! This entire trip (all of four months - ok, Im laughing at myself now) has been filled with head craziness for me. One day Im up and excited, the next Im down for no real reason at all. I'm both excited and scared about what the future holds. I believe and disbelieve that I will actually weight 130 pounds - probably more disbelieve than believe. My biggest fear was failure with the band. But here we are... you, me, and all of these other people who are thinking the same thing. I don't know what will actually happen to all of us but I know this. If we follow the rules, we won't fail. So I focus myself on today. I do what I know I have to do today and then I dont have anything to regret about yesterday. Tomorrow will take care of itself.

As for the RNY. You will lose slower with the band and because of that you will have more time to get your head around the huge change in your life and in your body. And you will be healthier because of that slower weightloss. You are just beginning and from what you're saying, youre doing a great job. So stop worrying and fretting. It's a long road but its full of rewards all along the way and you are going to do splendidly!

Dearest, Please talk to you DR. let him know of your discomfort. But please drink Water and drink some more when you are done with that. This will pass and soon the soft foods will be started, my favorite was graham crackers and milk. Please know this will pass. You have taken a great and very big step, I didn't think I could make it through but I did make it and you can too!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
