Addicted to Crystal Light-plain water gags me

Recommended Posts

Yep, that sums it up, I'm addicted, that's all I drink all day long, nothing else. I know about the minimal caloric intake but I can't stand plain Water and really don't like lemon in water unless I have lots of splenda in it to make lemonade. Plus I'm always on the go so I do water bottles and mix Crystal Light on the go packets. Sheesh!

I love Wyler's Peach Tea... way better than crystal light peach tea... I like their pink lemonade also.. I really don't like plain Water either.. I try to drink a few bottles through the day but somehow it makes me hungry? I totally wait for 45 min. after I eat to drink anything so its not that ...

I am a big mio fan the liquid flavors, but watch out, I sadly discovered that they are not so good for your teeth, loaded with citric acid. My dentist noticed unusual wear on my teeth and asked if I was a grinder or if I drank alot of fruit juice..........no to both, but then looked on the ingredients for mio - citric acid...........booooo

Try drinking Water with fresh lemon or cucumber. Not only tastey but also good for your skin. Im my opinion its ok to use mixes but I think you should also try to get in some plain pure water. Our bodies are 80 percent water. In saying that I meet my water goals and then I drink up to two low calorie gatorade. 40 calories a bottle. I freeze them and shake them up and it is like drinking a slushy.

Also the Ocean Spray mixes are really really good.

The Ocean Spray diet cranberry with lime has 5 calories per 8 ounces, but it is really good for a change. The calories are from real cranberry juice concentrate.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
