Bandre 13 Posted February 22, 2013 Hi all, I am 7 days post op and starting yesterday I have had a cramp in my side, it feels exactly like a stitch or cramp you would get from running. Had anyone else experienced this?? I keep searching on here but i haven't read anything similar. I think I must be doing something wrong, eating too fast or something? Or maybe it's gas pain? I'm taking pain killers and using a heating pad... But the pain doesn't seem to want to go away. It feels sharper when I take a deep breath. Please tell me it's normal! juju1289 6 Posted February 22, 2013 Hi! I had a lot of gas pain after my surgey. It was really sharp and would get worse when i breathed deeply or moved around. My nurse told me to take gas x. It kind of helped some but what really helped was walking it off. Id walk around my room and take the gas x i think every 3 or 2 hrs don't really remember. But if it gets worse or something u should call ur doctor. Hope u feel better soon! Hang in there! And congrats on ur surgery! :-)

SueBee01 630 Posted February 22, 2013 The other thing you have to watch out for is Constipation. Walk for the gas, but make sure once you start food that you are adding Fiber. We lose that with our new menu.
juju1289 6 Posted February 22, 2013 Well everybody is different. My doctor told me to rest as much as possible the first 3 days and than start slowly walking around the house but no exercise type walking before my first follow up which was about 3 wks after surgery. But if u feel strong and up to it i guess do walk but u know take it slow. Ur still healing. good luck with ur new journey and u have found a good place to talk about ur concerns this site is awesome! :-)
Birdie1973 23 Posted February 22, 2013 Try to walk around and if possible...try to pass some gas. It sounds funny but it might help

Happy2bhealthy 4 Posted February 22, 2013 I am having the same pains. I was banded 8days ago.Yesturday was the first time I went out and about all day, i may have overdone it or I think I my problem may be that I need to have a BM. I will call my Dr if the pain persists.
Pebbagirl 131 Posted February 23, 2013 Yes! I was banded 12/6/12 and had that same thing for a few weeks after surgery. Mine was on my left side, just below my rib cage (my port is on the right side.). I don't think very many people get that pain. Nobody on Here had a response when I asked about it and my nurse didn't have much to say either. It finally subsided.
CHEZNOEL 4,061 Posted February 24, 2013 Constipation can cause this cramping feeling. Try some Miralax.< /p> 1 Happy2bhealthy reacted to this

leeshabeesh 13 Posted February 24, 2013 I'm having that feeling too. My port is on the left side if my belly button but I feel the pain mostly in the right side between my hip and belly button. It hurts worse when I breathe deep. I'm 4 weeks post op. I've had this pain for about 2 weeks. I asked the nurse at my dr office and she said it was unrelated with the surgery. I thought maybe it was from IBS. Do you have IBS? I'm not sure if its not from Constipation. I have skipped a day here or there
