Tight or eating too fast?

Recommended Posts

I don't want to do damage to myself but I am confused. Can you be too tight and not in green zone. I have a hard time eating and sometimes it comes back up. But I am hungry and am not satisfied on small amounts..this happens a coupl times a week. Is this normal or should I call doctor?

I got my 3rd fill yesterday and I'm feeling too tight and got sick tonight after 4 bites. It kind of sounds like you might be a little tight too.

Being too tight means that you are not in the green zone. You have passed through it into the dangerous red zone.

However, your post title suggests that you think you may be eating too fast so concentrate on slowing down considerably and see if this makes a difference.

If not, then get yourself off to your dr for a consultation and probably a slight unfill.

Being in the green zone means that you can eat, albeit slowly, and not vomit or PB. And you will be satisfied on a small amount of food for a longer period of time.

It is a fine line between being too tight and not eating properly....

The band is designed to alter our old eating habits that made us fat in the first place....what we may think is too tight may be eating wrong...or then again, maybe not...

I know many people who thought they were too tight, got an un fill, then regretted it and wanted another fill a few weeks later.....

I know people who got a slight un-fill and they found that perfect balance.....

It took me a full month after my last fill to adjust to it...I could have said I was too tight...but I knew if I took a step back, that would put me where I was...always hungry and not loosing weight........but I am glad I did not because it has made all the difference ever since...that was 20 months ago, and I have not been stuck in over a year...

But that i me...only you can tell if you're where you want to be or not...

After my 6th fill I was in the green zone but I thought I was too tight also. So, I had .5 cc removed. I haven't lost any weight since then. But I did realize I wasn't eating properly and that's why I was too tight. Re-educating myself to eat slowly, very small and chew more is one of the hardest things I've had to do with the band. I believe many people dance around the green zone simply because they don't follow the rules, like I didn't follow the rules even though I thought I was. Some even fail because they just can't slow down.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
