Weight loss slowing down / no B.M's

Recommended Posts

My weight loss has been real good up until this point. I was averaging 8-12 pounds a month and now I have slowed down a lot. I am 16 pounds away from my goal and it breaks my heart its comming off slow now. I have noticed that I don't have a b.m. but once a week or so and I the Fiber and Miralax is not helping. Could this be slowing my weight loss down too?

Please help I feel like I am letting myself down because my goal is so close but it's not getting here...

You have done amazing! No bm will def slow things down, but also it gets harder when there is less to lose. Chin up girl, most people would love to be where you at at so quickly!

I agree... no BM is something you need to address with your doctor, but it is not at all unusual for the weight loss to slow as you you lose more and more. Keep up with your program. Are you getting exercise? Best wishes... you can make it happen it you WANT it!

Not BM'ing routinely is defintlely something that I have noticed slows down my weight.

Eat LOTS of fiber every day!!!.

Ask you doctor first but when I was in the Hospital the nurse gave me warm prune juice about 2oz. I had a great BM after.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
