You went straight back to work? I was in hospital for 2 days and drugged up for a week after that... 15lbs is great! Just make sure you take it easy at work... It really shows how much eating and drinking is a habit eg. big drinks, chewing, portions... I was banded 8 months ago and im still learning...!!

Keep up the good work...

Im trying to take it easy but being a single mom with a one year old and a 3 year old is a little hard.. Lol but your out 8 months how much have u lost?

I was really bloated and sore so I wasnt going to say no to the good drugs in hospital...

I have lost 35lbs so far. Slower then a lot of people but my doctor is happy. I struggled to even lost 2lbs before so this is a massive step.

Wow I can imagine have the 2 little ones is hard, I couldnt sleep for a few days so I dont know how your going and I had my husband to look after me... Maybe I'm just a bit of a sook tho...? lol

My big incision got a bit infected aswell so it took a little longer to heal. Being diabetic aswell things always take a little longer to heal...

Keep us updated on your progress...

Gas pains are usually bloated stomach and pains around your shoulders. Peppermint tea is good for that, I swore by it... Stacey did you say eating too much? Are you on clear fluids still?

I'm also new and petrified of getting the surgery. Not the surgery itself but of complications. I don't know how to get over this fear. I really need to do this.

Thats good Stacey... Whats the uncomfortable feeling? From the surgery itself? Sore stomach muscles? Bloating? Remember you would still be healing so it will feel strange...

I just got banded 2/13 had minimal complications just with the gas they fill you up with, the most important thing for you to do aftet sirgery os listen to whay your surgeon/nutritionist has planned for you and make sure i follow the liquid diet, walk around, drink as much fluids to keep u hydrated. Everyone differs! Im feelin way better just dealing with the gas is a pain! Good luck on your journy and if u feel something is not right never hesitate to call your dr!

Aza like I was saying before Peppermint tea worked with the gas for me I had no pain within 2 days...

I agree everyone is different but stick to what your doctor etc say and you will be fine... It's worth it...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
