4thefuture31 20 Posted February 17, 2013 Ok so am I going to be burping like a frat guy for the rest of my life? I was banded 9 days ago. It's annoying how gassy my stomach gets at times. Is this part of the healing process?? Mehhhhhhh!
Tiny1234 121 Posted February 17, 2013 Kind of, sort of. I do notice I have to cover up more burps pro-band than pre-band. I'm not sure why. I burped and sneezed at the same time and everyone in the office thought I sounded like a rabid dog. 1 TattooBeauty reacted to this
hely88 883 Posted February 17, 2013 It gets better. You are still full of gas from surgery. Walk a lot you should feel better soon. I do burp more but its not a lot.
elcee 3,341 Posted February 17, 2013 Burping like a sailor is quite common, it's something you get used to. Just think yourself lucky that for now it's coming out of the top............... 2 catfish87 and Tiny1234 reacted to this

Cheryl-1014 0 Posted February 17, 2013 I burp and have rolling gurgle belch like it is crawling out of my throat.
Chrissy-Chris 51 Posted February 17, 2013 I have been banded for 3 and 1/2 weeks and did sound like a sailor like elcee said above. My 2 boys, 9 and 11, kept saying "Mom, you get on us when we keep burping like that" and my husband kept saying "Sexy!", sarcatically! I told them it wasn't my choice but that I had to so that I could help clear the gas out of my stomach. That went for like 2 weeks after being banded. However, it is much better now and don't notice it to be a problem now at all.
4thefuture31 20 Posted February 18, 2013 Ok well thanks for the low down. I hope it becomes less soon!
Jewelsm1127 351 Posted February 18, 2013 I was wishing I could burp post op. I felt like I needed to but no dice. Now I burp here and there but nothing bad.
lekanto 50 Posted February 18, 2013 I don't have as much of a problem with gas when I am careful to eat and drink slowly to avoid swallowing air. Drinking, especially, has taken some practice.
dylanmiles23 2,198 Posted February 18, 2013 As I was looking at the subjects, I was burping. I burp a lot especially after a shake. I make my shakes in a blender with lots of ice and the air makes me burp. I also fart a lot, too. I was told get used to it.
