Hi all hope that U guys are super well? I have a question in 2 weeks I will have my first adjustment in my band and lost 18 lbs in 4 weeks, but the 5 week feel that I'm not losing weight, and I have no problem swallowing will be that I will gain weight? My surgery was January 14, 2013 I'm eating very healthy but I feel I'm doing something wrong!!! :(

The band isn't supposed to effect your swallowing nor is it supposed to stop you from physically eating.

Have a look at this link, it'll help you better understand: http://drsimpson.net/fills/Lap-band-eating/lap-band-not-restriction/lap-band-and-restriction.html

Talk to your doctor about your fears. No need for them. I had my 3rd fill yesterday and it's nothing. Also, I met with my dietitian and if you meet with yours they will help you, also. You gain weight if you don't follow the proper diet that is given.

Congratulations on getting the band.

to gain weight, you have to eat more calories than you burn off...

as dylan and miss said, follow the dr's allotted amounts, eat good filling foods and

you will do well.

I think your fears are a normal process in this new LB life. I remember I was always freaked out that I was doing something wrong, when first banded. Try and relax and write these questions down for your next appt.

One more thing, does your doctor/hospital have a support group that meets? I find the meetings very helpful.

Hi I am new to this forum and am confused about how I post a new thread? I only see where I can quote people in threads already posted. I'm sorry to the original poster I did not mean to hack your thread.

No problem-everyone needs to learn. I am still learning because I don't know how to use a computer the proper way. So just yell out and ask for help and put in your 2 cents-we love new people. :)

Hi new kid on the block!

At the top of your screen click main forums.

Then puck any subforum topic that interests you.

Then at the top of that screen will be a tab that says start thread.

I think worrying if we are doing what's right is a side effect they don't tell you about. For example, I know this crazy worrier that has lost 100+ in under a year, and worries if she is doing things right!!!!!

So try not to sweat it, even though you probably will, but I bet you are doing just what you should.

Good luck!
