Fat Burner question please??

:help:

I'm thinking to use some kind of fat burner to help my weight loss. Do you recommend any? I don't want anything with stimulants or caffeine in it, but basically to burn fat and/or gain some muscle. Thank you,

Elena

The best fat burner around is good old fashioned exercise! It is caffeine free too! Seriously though, I dont know about taking a fat burner pill....I pretty much got banded because I had taken so much of that crap and done so many diets, they obviously were NO miracle for me. I hear that the EGCG in green tea helps metabolise fat and it stimulant free. Maybe some green tea capsules or drinking a couple of cups a day would give you the boost you are looking for.

Elena,

My good friend says that green tea hypes her up :) - so be careful.

Do you have a vitamin/herb supply store close by? Maybe they could recommend something.

Was it Chrom. Piconate (sp?) that was used to burn fat?

Whatever you find, please share the info. :biggrin1:

NO! I dont recommend GNC. Several reasons why.

Do you have anything locally owned? Or try asking your pharmacist, maybe they have an idea.

One thing against the fat burners might be the pills themselves. I cannot take big pills, and need to use liquids, dissolving tabs or crush them up.

Many fat burners are time-release, so you shouldn't crush them.

I know I couldn't get one past my band.

Hey Paul - which ones have YOU tried? (just curious)

Before my band... probably all of them.

Zenadrine, Cortislim, Chromium picconolate (sp), amino acid combos, green tea, Stacker, Ephedra, and more.

The only thing I usually got from them was at most, the jitters, but no weight loss.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
