Hello! I need some serious help/adive/steerage here! I am VERY new to the lapband world! I had my surgery on Jan 25 and have lost 35lbs since the pre-op diet! I have been experience such a ladder with the scale, going up and down 6-7lbs. I am excercising as well as eating the alotted diet that my surgeon wants me to follow. I am able to eat soft foods now as well! Is this perfectly normal? I do not want to go into the doctor next month with a crazy weight gain since I was last in.

Any advice? anyone experience this?

Weight fluctuation of up to 8lbs is normal. It would be Water weight. It could be poo yes poo. Are you sleeping enough, eating enough Protein, pooping, not stressing these all play factors in weight loss.

Hi Curvy,

It is very normal, and it's also normal that you might gain some weight the first month....I did  and that's because you most likely don't have any restriction yet. So don't panic and just try to follow your doctor's intructions as much as you can and you'll be fine.

Keep exercising, it feels great !!!

Like the above posters said, it's totally normal for weight to fluctuate a little

My advice to you is to only weigh yourself once a week, as opposed to every day. It becomes torturous to keep seeing the scale go up and down like a seesaw.

It sounds to me like your doing great! Don't worry if you gain a little but, your body is still adjusting. If your doc gives you a hard time then just give him a kick where it hurts :D
