cheryl2586 3,053 Posted February 14, 2013 Its not uncommon to become hypoglycemic after wls. Mine was 40 once. You just have to eat Protein to keep it up. Carbs will only make it go up and down. I find eating protein every couple of hours helps greatly. 1 SeaSounders♥ reacted to this
Baba Wawa 543 Posted February 14, 2013 My nutritionist suggested a pre bedtime snack of 2:1 carb:protein to stabilize morning BG. She said to aim for 7 gr Protein to 14 gr healthy carb such as cheese with whole grain crackers. Be sure to allow for this in your calorie count for the day. I had this problem post op and eating this type of a snack around 8 pm helped keep my am BG above 70, the threshold for low blood glucose. 2 SeaSounders♥ and DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! reacted to this

CHEZNOEL 4,061 Posted February 15, 2013 Keep your Protein levels up. That is best way to level off blood sugar. If you don't eat enough you could be low.
