3 yrs ago tonight

Recommended Posts

3 yrs ago tonight my eating got way outta hand and worse. Yes I had always been overweight all my adult life but 3 yrs ago tonight my ex asked for a divorce out of nowhere, that sorry piece of SH*&. I know most of you are blown away at my language as I don't curse but if you knew what I know about him now, boy oh boy, have I found out things in the past 2 weeks, man was I blind! He was such a DOG! All I can say is I can take comfort in knowing I'm over him once and for all and have moved on and life is good and on with my weight loss and healthy eating and lifestyle. Now if I can get my sore toe to heal so I can exercise properly I'd be good. But with that said, I did blow up a stability ball today to do sit ups and I bought bands to do upper body workout, so that's a start. I thought about one of those mini stepper things with bands, do any of you have one? I happen to live with my mom so not a lot of space so I thought it was something I could tuck under the bed or in the closet when not in use.

Thanks

Donna

I know the feeling of betrayal. Thank goodness it happened now and not another 10 or 15 years from now. You are still beautiful and catch yourself a good man so be thankful that it happened now and not when you were too old to get in the game again. They say that things happen for a reason and I am not too sure why things like this happen but you will be happy again soon. My second husband and I have been together for 34 years and I know it never cheated or would cheat on me. You have a lot of life left and weight will not be a deciding factor in getting a good man to stand by you. Been there and done that. Good luck and vent and get that out of your system and enjoy life now that he is gone and start fresh.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
