My stomach feels so swollen still. The Dr. said everything looked great I was released to go back to work. (I go back Thursday) My incisions look good no signs or symptoms of infection I just feel BLOATED. I drink Water constantly because I don't want to become dehydrated. Sometimes I just feel like this is in my throat. I had an emotional breakdown yesterday of wtf was I thinking and why did I do this. Does anyone have these or had these issues?? Also how do you sleep? ? I just don't want to screw this up.

Yeah completely normal feelings.... everyone has the second guess thinking. It just occurs at different times for each person! I slept in the recliner the first week. It was the only way I was comfortable and could get up on my own. Then I moved to the bed propped up on pillows eventually I tried laying on my belly where it was actually the most comfortable cause it our pressure on it. The only hard thing was rolling off of it and getting up. Just lay where you're most comfortable. Odds are u won't screw anything up by the way u sleep! But just to reassure u again what you're feeling is completely normal!!!

I had those feelings yesterday and I'm only 6 days in. It's completely normal. This is a huge lifestyle change. As much as we prepared ourselves for it, it's still an emotional ride. My husband said to me yesterday (when I told him I miss food) this is what I wanted and it's going to make me healthy and help me live longer. It's not easy but just think about the end result. Don't worry about screwing up. Your going to be just fine. My stomach is still swollen too. As far as sleeping, I can't wait until I can't sleep a full night in my bed! I can start off in bed just fine but I'll wake up a few hours later very uncomfortable and I have to sleep on the recliner.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
