Vitamins, water, and protein powder

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

I wanted to know what chewable vitamins you would recommend on the market today. Go with the Bariatric Advantage or is there a comperable brand on the local store shelf.

How do you keep track of your Water. Do I carry a "bottle" around or mark a chart or what? Does Mio help?

Finally, what Protein powders does everybody use?

Thanks for the info,

NJHAZMAT

As far as Vitamins my doc said the Centrum tummies were good. I track Water by a combination of the 36oz bottle I carry and use an an called fitbit that tracks calories as well as activity and Water. There are fitbit devices that you can buy that track steps and activity and such and sync up with the smart phone app but if you just want to use the app itself is free. You can also set your phone to send you reminders to drink.

I use the Mio and crystal light stuff, I like it. It makes things a little different but I also love water on its own.

A good Protein is unjury, you can find it online. I prefer to get the unflavored that way it's easier to add to stuff and not notice the flavor.

Good luck.

I carry a certain size bottle as well and use an app to record every time I refill it. Crystal light is good. I just bought the Mio fruit punch and thought it was awful so I dumped the bottle and went back to plain Water.< /p>

I found a great liquid Vitamin at Vitamin Shoppe, Max Effect.

Protein, I have been using Myofusion Elite. Low fat, low carb great taste:

As for Water, get a bottle, I use the tall Blender Bottle, and just keep it with you at all times and drink it. I have one at my desk and one at home. It is the only thing I drink and when it is empty I fill it immediately. I do not track my consumption, but I would guess that I drink 3-4 full bottles a day (tall Blender Bottle is 28 oz).

I use Mio - fruit punch does suck, but the orange-tangerine is great, so is the sweet tea, and the lemonade. Mixing them is also fun - sweet tea with lemonade, orange-lemonade. Crystal Lite also has some liquid Water enhancers. Peach Belini is delicious (drinking that right now), Pomtini is excellent as well.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
