Why do they put you in puréed food after surgery?

What if you just chew the food until its basically puréed?

I'm Almost 3 weeks post op and I have a fault had chicken thigh and it went down fine!

Is my band working ?

I'm getting discouraged

Because you just had your stomach stitched and it needs time to heal. Going against your doctor's orders isn't even remotely smart.

Stick to your doctor's post op diet so you don't risk complications or a slip.

There is not much chance you can chew to the consistency of baby food without swallowing some pieces which are too big. Please make sure to wait until the dr says its ok to move to solids

Right now you may not be feeling restriction but your band is working,.,. It's just waiting for your body to heal so it can get filled. Until it does it would be wise to follow the drs orders and also start tracking your calories so you dont have a false sense of security until you get to the green zone.

Best wishes.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
