I talked to my doc and he said I had an too much fill and took some out in nov with no results. I still burp which some times burps make it hard to eat or keep food down! Ugh any advice?

You've been burping since June? How many times have you been to your doctor and discussed this. Burping isn't supposed to happen constantly with or without WLS. Please go back to your doctor and request a barium swallow to see if your band is in the proper place. If you're refused this option, it might be time for a new WLS doctor. Good luck and keep us posted!

I noticed that I burped a lot in the beginning. Now I may just be used to it and don't even notice that I do it anymore.

I had that problem for a while after being banded and will have that issue for a week or two after fills. I think I am just so used to it that I don't even notice it any more.

I had 7 cc and now I got 6.45 cc but it just seems weird I don't drink pop or out of straws Nd my belching don't ever hurt its just frequent and loud! I will speak again with my surgeon at my next appt! I'v been discouraged because I was losing right on track until my unfill and didn't lose anything for two months! I don't want another unfill!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
