Hello everyone! I am 40hrs post-operative. I had the lap band and a large hiatal hernia repaired. I just have a quick question about food that I'm hoping you all can help me out with. My doctor says to eat until you are satisfied, not until you are full. I don't have a very large appetite since having surgery. I'm also not having trouble keeping food down either: no nausea or vomiting. My paperwork says to have at least 1/2 a cup of liquid/liquid foods every hour that I'm awake. Well, my question is, can I go over that 1/2 cup? For instance, I just had a 1/2 a cup of low sodium chicken broth followed by a sugar free/fat free vanilla pudding cup with tiny sips of Water in between. I'm eating very slowly, and I feel very satisfied. Does this seen like a lot of food to you all or is this ok? I apologize for this post being so long. Thank you for all of your help! :)

My Dr. puts his patients on liquids only for about 4 days post op, then you gradually add creamy foods like puddings.. I am just now on regular foods and I had surgery on Jan 15.. but each Dr. has a different protocal.. sounds like you are doing great...

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
