I hope I don't offend anyone, but my husband has been asking this question, I know there's some restrictions after lap band, but has the band affected your love life in any bad ways?

It really shouldn't restrict you in anyway other than eating. If anything, the weight you will lose, should enhance it. ;)

GREAT QUESTION!!! I am wondering the same thing! I wonder if u can feel the port or even see it. Most of my weight is not in my stomach, do that is the 1st place I will lose it. The visual is haunting me :-(

I have lost 75 lbs and don't feel my port (unless I try by pushing down on my belly). The only real issues I have seen with some people is sometimes the partner struggles with their weight loss (insecurities) or as the banded partner starts gaining more confidence, becomes more outgoing, etc. and may change in the process. The couples need to have a strong foundation in that regard. :)

If the restriction from your lap band is affecting your sex life, you are doing it wrong!!!

The only restriction was waiting a few weeks afterward because you are a little sore. Everything else has been very positive because once the weight starts coming off, your confidence gets higher and are more willing. I never feel my port at all.

I'm glad I read this thread. I was wondering if I had to wait a certain amount of time before I could have sex....but it sounds like there is no real waiting period after the initial pain from the surgery subsides. This should make my husband super happy. Lol!

The rule of thumb is if it hurts, change positions. Depending on your port location that area could be sore for a while.

The instructions I received from my surgeon actually addresses this. They say that I should wait 2 weeks before intimacy to let my body heal.

Was intimate 4 days post op and it was fine. Just try positions that don't hurt. And our sex life has doubled since surgery. I feel sexier as the weight comes off and that gets him more excited. Guys like confidence in women.

hasnt affected mine (in a bad way)....in fact its made it better? how so?? because i am loosing, i am gaining some self confidence back...and there is nothing sexier than a woman who works it with a pair of high heels and nothing else but feels like a goddess no matter what her weight.....if you feel good inside, it shows on the outside...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
