Recommended Posts

Just have to vent....it helps....

I am 4 days post op and feeling better but so cranky, irritable and hungry! Being stuck inside bc of the blizzard didnt help either.

I know it will get better but when?!? I would never cheat, not that i have come this far but gosh this is hard!

It'll get better in on day 16 and today I had chicken fajitas no wrap no salsa a few strips and sour cream. Today is the first day I've had three meals since surgery. Hold on I know it's rough. Good luck

You probably don't want to hear this but I was where you are for 4 months. It's called "bandster hell". I'm no longer there but it was worth it for me. Once you can eat solids you can fill up on veggies, lean meats and fruit so it's not quite so bad.

Thanks everyone....

I know my doc said if this was easy everyone would do it. And i know nothing worth it ever comes easy.

Its just so hard....i feel like i think about food every minute! ???ž

I need to stay strong....i worked so hard to get here and dont want to throw it all away.

I have less then two weeks til I can eat mushies and i cant wait for that. Just some tuna or egg salad is gonna taste like filet mingon at this point! Lol

My doctor moved me on and I actually tolerate it better just figuring out when to stop is hard to me.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
