FLORIDAYS 3,040 Posted February 8, 2013 I know its frustrating in the beginnining...my question to you would be... are you tracking your calories and measuring your portions? Even without restriction I believe its possible to lose if you pay attention to what you eat. I ate 1000 calories for the entire duration of my losing stage and lost an average of 10 lbs a month. The first 6 months was the hardest until I was in the green zone. Maybe try that to see if you can get the scale to move. Good luck. 3 ☠carolinagirl☠, daisychains7 and A New New Dawn reacted to this

He may be filling you too slowly - if you felt the right restriction before, accept no substitute. Be your own advocate! You shouldn't be hungry. Don't mean to disagree with you but how many CCs in your band is irrelevent. It may be information you'd like to have but it has no bearing on restriction as each of us are all so different and restriction is a moving target. The amount of saline in my band, your band or anyone's band will vary due to different anatomys, different doctors, different band placements etc. Some find the best restriction with 0 CCs and others may need all 10-14? tmf 4 A New New Dawn, laurigee, ☠carolinagirl☠ and 1 other reacted to this
general_antiope 189 Posted February 8, 2013 That wasn't what I meant - it's silly for someone to not know what is happening in their own body...OP said the doc doesn't tell her what he's filling. That's problem #1. If she's had multiple fills and months and months later still is feeling no restriction, she is perfectly empowered to ask for a bigger fill (if doc agrees with it). I'm saying this should not be a one way relationship, doctor to band. It should be a three way conversation.

general_antiope 189 Posted February 8, 2013 Why yes we are I agree, restriction number has no standard! It's different by person. 1 2muchfun reacted to this
firefaerie266 53 Posted February 8, 2013 I agree with the comment about checking your inches and your clothes. Are you improving your muscle strength and endurance at the gym? Can you run longer or do more reps or lift more? How are you clothes feeling? 1 2muchfun reacted to this

tym4me 206 Posted February 8, 2013 Clothes feeling more snug and face feeling fat sounds like Water retention. What you are eating is just as important as how much you are eating. Try staying away from high sodium foods also caffeine.

You can lose weight eating those foods(depending on your calorie intake) but you're defeating the purpose of having the band? tmf

Maybe he knows something we don't know but his approach is rather unorthodox. I won't advise you stray away from his instructions but If i were you I would do some research and ask him why he's advocating his approach over hundreds of other doctors who mostly adhere to a very different eating strategy? Double check with him and make sure you didn't misunderstand his strategy? tmf
