baparrett70 4 Posted February 7, 2013 Well.... It will be a year next month and I've only lost 20 lbs!!!!!. So frustrated, depressed. Doctors found that my thyroid was sluggish so they started me on medicine 2 months ago. I exercise, eat no more than 1200 calories a day. Has this happen to anyone? Any advice? this sucks 557 Posted February 7, 2013 Hang in there. I have thyroid issues also and it does impact your rate of weight loss. You need to accept that you are going to lose a little slower, but don't use your thyroid as an excuse. Since you are new to the medication, it may take a little time to get your dosing at the right level to help. Good news is that I am still losing and I was banded over 2 1/2 years ago. There is nothing wrong with losing slowly. At least you aren't gaining, right? Celebrate the 20 lbs and keep on doing the right stuff-journaling, exercising, eating lots of Protein and drinking lots of Water. Remember the story of the tortoise and the hare? Who won the race in the end??? Good luck. 1 baparrett70 reacted to this
JenWis6 98 Posted February 7, 2013 Hang in there. It is amazing how much a small gland in your body can reek such havok on your hormones. My Thyroid went bad 2 years ago and I was told that once you get your meds right it could take at least 6-8 months to start seeing any weight loss. Don't give up, you can beat this bump in the road. An inspiring quote I have all around my house is "Keep moving forward" ~Walt Disney. 2 this sucks and baparrett70 reacted to this
