Cotton mouth and bad breath

Ever since surgery I've noticed that at night I have these symptoms. I never had this issue before. I brush my teeth before bed as usual, I drink more Water than I ever have in my life now but I wake in the middle of the night now with such a dry mouth and throat and my mouth tastes horrible. When morning comes the first thing I have to do is brush my teeth again, I won't go near my wife. If I can't stand my own breath I can't imagine what she would think! Anyone else have this problem since the band?

i do (and did) with the dry mouth.not sure why. i just started to drink (more) and it seemed to help with the dry mouth part. as for the bad breath, i dont know (hadnt scared hub off yet) but i do brush alot anyhow so i may not have noticed..

Are you still taking pain medications because that will certainly cause dry mouth. If not then we all have it.

nah, stopped taking the pain meds on day 3 after surgery. At least I'm in good company.

I started using Biotene mouth rinse for dry mouth and that seems to be helping with my dry mouth and breath.
