shazini 94 Posted February 6, 2013 I'm not clear here Do you have diabetes or not? Your lab showed you have it or...??? If you have it chances are you've had it for a long time and you just became aware of it. 8 more day is not an issue, nothing will happen in 8 days. With that said wherever you live (Denver I assume) there are free clinics look them up and go to one. Most of them have a makeshift pharmacy and can get you on some meds for nothing or very little money -- we're talking 5-7 bucks. While you're at it stay off of crabs as much as possible. I am not a medical professional and everything said here is from personal experience -- see a doctor ASAP! 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
cheryl2586 3,053 Posted February 6, 2013 You doctor should have free samples in his/her office. You should ask them. I would definitely stay off the sugar and carbs until you can do something but I would talk to your doctor about getting your medications. Most drug companies will give the drugs for free if you can't afford them. Its just paper work your doctor has to fill out and send to them. I wouldn't play around with diabetes alot can happen in 8 days. 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this

Molly40.P 55 Posted February 7, 2013 Ask your Dr for free samples, like said above. You need to get help asap. Good luck!
Baba Wawa 543 Posted February 8, 2013 Type 2, I'm assuming? I was Dx with type 2 four months pre op. My doctor gave me a glucose meter right away, showed me how to use it and a food plan. My BG responded immediately to the dietary change. My A1c is under 5 now, it was 7.8 and it steadily declined over 18 months. You might be able to control it with diet and exercise. If you're planning on a band, then you might as well start changing your eating habits now, it will be a lot easier for you than waiting till later. Best of luck to you. MileHighDreamer 8 Posted February 8, 2013 Ms maui I want to ask you. Alot of information online says the band reverses diabetes. But I know may thin to average sized people who are greatly affected by diabetes. Can you tell me about how the band has made you feel month to month relating your diabetes.
